Heavy Rain

Rain: 2; SpawnExtraThingsOnBattleStart: {"tile":"WaterTile","number":[12,20]}

Heavy Rain is an intensified version of the Rain weather effect in Mewgenics. It carries all of the same properties as standard Rain, including the Persistent Water Element, universal Wet status, Fire Tile extinguishing, Burn curing, and the full suite of elemental amplification for Electric and Ice attacks.

What sets Heavy Rain apart is the addition of extra water tiles scattered across each battle arena. These additional water tiles reshape the terrain significantly, creating large patches of water that slow ground-based movement and funnel units into narrower dry paths. For melee-focused teams that need to close distance quickly, the additional movement cost can be a real problem. Ranged builds and classes with jump or teleport abilities handle the flooded terrain much more comfortably.

The extra water tiles also amplify the already-powerful Electric synergies that Rain enables. Electric abilities that conduct through water gain additional "lanes" of conduction, and clustered enemies standing on adjacent water tiles take devastating chain damage. Ice builds benefit similarly: more water tiles mean more opportunities to create frozen terrain that locks down enemy movement entirely.

Heavy Rain shares Rain's critical interaction with The Desert. If it spawns at the house hub before you enter Act 2, it negates Heat Wave just like standard Rain does. The additional water tiles make Desert encounters even more manageable, since your cats have abundant access to water for staying hydrated and maintaining the Wet status that counters heat-related mechanics.

Like Rain, Heavy Rain makes your team vulnerable to enemy Electric and Ice abilities. Position your cats carefully to avoid clustering on water tiles when facing Electric-element enemies.
