Disorder
Necrosis
When you take damage, you get -1 [img:con], -1 [img:str], and spawn poisoned food.
Necrosis causes your cat to lose 1 Constitution and 1 Strength permanently whenever it takes damage, and also spawns poisoned food at the cat's location. The stat loss is cumulative and permanent, meaning every hit your cat takes makes it progressively weaker and frailer. The poisoned food spawns as a pickup that, if eaten by any unit, applies Poison rather than providing healing.
Necrosis is heritable and can pass from parent to kitten through breeding. It can also be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The permanent stat loss on every damage instance makes Necrosis one of the most degenerative disorders in the game. In fights where the cat takes many hits, the CON and STR drain can render it useless within a few turns. The poisoned food spawns could theoretically be used against enemies if they eat it, but this is unreliable.
Necrosis should be replaced immediately in almost all cases. The permanent stat drain makes your cat progressively worse with every battle, and there is no way to recover the lost stats. If you must keep it, pair it with high dodge chance or Immortal to minimize the number of damage instances that trigger the stat loss. Cats with Necrosis should be treated as expendable or short-term combatants rather than long-term investments, as the cumulative degradation will eventually make them too weak to contribute.
