Pox

10% chance to skip your turn to scratch yourself. Your basic attack has a 50% chance to inflict Poison 1. 5% chance of recovering at the end of each round. Contagious.

Pox is a contagious disease with multiple effects: a 10% chance to skip your turn to scratch yourself, a 50% chance for your basic attack to inflict Poison 1, and a 5% chance to recover at the end of each round. The turn-skipping is the most annoying aspect, randomly wasting actions while your cat scratches instead of fighting. The Poison 1 on basics is a minor offensive bonus, and the 5% recovery chance means the disease can eventually cure itself.

Pox is heritable and contagious, spreading to other party members during adventures. It can be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The contagious spread means a Pox-infected cat can infect the entire party if not isolated. The 5% self-recovery rate is the lowest among contagious diseases (The Common Cold has 30%), meaning Pox tends to persist for much longer before naturally clearing.

Strategically, Pox is a nuisance that is not severe enough to be crippling but annoying enough to want removed. The 10% turn skip rate is comparable to Deja Vu's action cancellation, and the 50% Poison 1 on basics is a weak offensive bonus that does not compensate for lost turns. Isolate infected cats to prevent party-wide spread, and hope for the 5% self-cure to trigger before it causes too many lost turns. The Poison application is more beneficial on cats with high attack frequency, but overall Pox is a net negative.
