Sticky is a Champion modifier that coats the elite enemy in a viscous adhesive substance, causing cats that make contact through melee attacks to become slowed or briefly immobilized. Any cat that strikes a Sticky elite in close range risks getting stuck in place for a portion of their next turn, drastically reducing their ability to reposition or chain follow-up attacks. The slowdown effect applies on each melee hit, meaning multi-hit abilities like Cleave or Flurry can repeatedly trigger the penalty if the cat remains adjacent.

Sticky is most dangerous on enemies that already punish melee engagement, such as Brutes, Golems, or anything with a counterattack passive. A Sticky Brute, for example, forces melee cats into a lose-lose scenario: either commit to attacking and get stuck in range of its heavy hits, or waste turns repositioning without dealing damage. Fast enemies with Sticky are equally problematic, since they can close distance and force melee exchanges on their terms while your cats struggle to disengage. The modifier effectively neutralizes hit-and-run tactics that many melee builds rely on to stay safe.

The cleanest counter to Sticky is ranged damage. Classes like the Mage, Tinkerer, and Druid can deal full damage from outside melee range without ever triggering the adhesive effect. If your team is melee-heavy, prioritize abilities that deal damage from a distance or at the start of combat before closing in. Psychic Pull can reposition a Sticky elite away from your frontline, buying time to whittle it down safely. Abilities that grant Haste or free movement after attacking also help mitigate the slow penalty. When facing Sticky elites in mixed encounters, focus them last so your melee cats can clean up non-Sticky threats first without getting bogged down.
