Floast is an enemy found in The End chapter, based on an enemy from The End is Nigh. It has 10 HP plus 8 shield and starts each encounter with its shield already active, making it more durable than its HP alone suggests. It is a slow melee threat (movement 2) with two distinct attack options: a close-range Maul that deals 7 damage, and a ranged hook that pulls units toward it in a line.
The ranged hook pull is what makes Floast dangerous despite its slow speed — it can drag a ranged cat into melee range from a distance before following up with the Maul. It can also summon a fly as an action at range 3, providing minor additional pressure. The combination of positioning-denial through the hook and high melee damage makes it a versatile threat that requires respect even from cats that would normally outpace it.
Shield-piercing attacks or bleed effects skip Floast's 8-point shield buffer. Be cautious about positioning ranged cats in a line directly facing Floast — its hook travels in a straight line and will pull any cat in its path toward it. After being hooked, a cat can take a Maul on the same action if Floast is adjacent, resulting in a devastating two-hit sequence. Knockback abilities can maintain safe distance even after a failed positioning attempt.
