Franklin

Franklin is a Tinkerer-class cat miniboss with 45 HP, 0 base damage, 4 movement, and 5 Luck, found in The Lab (Act 3, Chapter 1). Rather than attacking with raw strength, Franklin fights by crafting and equipping an arsenal of improvised weapons, mirroring the Tinkerer class's tool-based combat style. He is one of the class-themed minibosses that each represent a different player archetype, and is possibly named after inventor Benjamin Franklin.

Franklin's weapon rotation includes Stick (melee with +1 reach), Shard of Glass (inflicts Bleed), Pogo Stick (jump attack), Small Bomb (explosive), Battery (ranged lightning with a 10% stun chance), and Spitball (ranged, inflicts Slow). He can also use the Catbot ability to spawn a hostile Catbot armed with his current weapon, effectively duplicating his offensive presence on the battlefield while freeing up his inventory to craft additional arms. When his health drops low enough, he triggers a Mech Suit transformation that dramatically escalates his combat capabilities and attack patterns.

The most effective strategy against Franklin is to deal massive burst damage before he gets a chance to act, potentially bypassing the Mech Suit phase entirely. If that is not possible, prioritize destroying any Catbots he spawns to prevent them from multiplying his damage output, then focus fire on Franklin himself. His 0 base damage means his threat comes entirely from crafted weapons, so encounters where he is denied time to build his arsenal are significantly easier. Franklin has Champion and Robo variants with enhanced durability.
