Enemy
Raptor
Fast pack hunter dinosaur with flanking attacks.
The Raptor is a fast cat-type dinosaur enemy found in the Jurassic chapter. With 24 HP and movement 5, it is one of the quicker threats in the chapter. Its melee attack hits a random number of times per strike, meaning damage output varies each turn — some attacks may land one hit, while others chain multiple strikes in a single action. This unpredictability makes it difficult to rely on damage thresholds.
The Raptor's pack hunter tendency increases its threat substantially in groups: when multiple Raptors converge on a single target, the combined random hit count can overwhelm a cat in a single round. Fast cats may outpace individual Raptors, but their movement of 5 closes ground quickly. The randomized multi-hit also interacts unpredictably with any enemy that spawns units on damage, such as nearby Mummified Mangys.
Engage Raptors one at a time if possible to avoid being overwhelmed by simultaneous random multi-hits. Knockback abilities keep their high movement from translating immediately into melee contact. In mixed Jurassic fights, clearing Raptors first removes the most mobile and unpredictable damage source, allowing more controlled engagement of the slower dinosaur threats like Triceratops or Stegosaurus.
