Asteroid

Asteroid is a very rare head armor that provides 4 Shield and applies a status effect whenever the wearer takes damage to health or shield. The combination of solid shielding and a potent on-hit trigger makes this a strong defensive helmet — the shield softens blows while still allowing the reactive passive to fire. Better than the common Halo at the same mechanic, with added shield value on top.

Shield:4 absorbs damage before it reaches health, but StatusOnTookDamage still fires on every damage instance regardless of whether it hits the shield or health. This means the shield doesn't suppress the reactive passive — every hit still generates a status application. The combined effect is that Asteroid is both harder to damage and generates more status pressure than Alien Stalk.

Asteroid is the stronger choice over Alien Stalk in most circumstances: the Shield:4 gives it standalone defensive value even if status application were irrelevant. Best on tanks who expect to absorb many hits and want both survivability and passive debuffing from the head slot. Pairs with the same on-hit reactive face items — Gemstone Bones, Bear Trap Mask, Pins and Needles — for a build that punishes every enemy attack from multiple angles.
