Sludge Hat

A no-rarity cursed Sludge set head armor obtainable from the Trashbags event. Grants +1 Shield but costs -1 Charisma. The head slot piece of the Sludge set, rounding out the trio with Sludge Necklace and Sludge Mask. A marginal defense boost with a consistent social penalty — only worth equipping if CHA is irrelevant to your build and you have no better head armor available.

The head slot is the most contested armor slot, meaning there's usually a better hat available unless you're running very early in a fresh run. The Sludge Hat fills it cheaply, but competing hats at the same point in the game often offer comparable Shield without the CHA penalty. Since Sludge gear is event-exclusive, you may be stuck with it temporarily regardless of preference.

Treat it as a stopgap and replace it at the first opportunity if CHA matters to your class. If you're running a CHA-agnostic tank build and receive the full Sludge trio from Trashbags, equipping all three gives you +3 Shield for free with no other downside. Just don't build a strategy around it — the set lacks offensive passives or scaling and is purely a temporary survivability buffer.
