Sludge Mask

A no-rarity cursed Sludge set face armor obtainable from the Trashbags event. Provides +1 Shield at the cost of -1 Charisma. The face slot entry in the Sludge set trio. Combine with Sludge Necklace and Sludge Hat for a full set, though the consistent CHA penalty makes this a poor fit for Charisma-dependent builds. Strictly a defensive numbers play for builds that don't rely on CHA at all.

Face armor is typically one of the harder slots to fill, so even +1 Shield has value here — though the -1 CHA penalty partially offsets that. Like the other Sludge pieces, it has no assigned rarity, meaning it isn't part of standard loot tables and only shows up via Trashbags. Wearing all three Sludge pieces nets +3 Shield at -3 CHA total, which is an even trade if CHA has no value to your build.

Best on pure tanks or builds where CHA is a dump stat. If you receive Sludge items from the Trashbags event mid-run, evaluate whether your current CHA matters before equipping: if it doesn't, free Shield across three slots is a decent consolation prize. Avoid on Necromancer, Jester, or any class heavily invested in Charisma-driven abilities.
