Internal engine status effect. This is the boss-specific variant of the Absorbent elite buff. Absorbent allows the enemy to absorb a portion of incoming damage and convert it into healing, making sustained chip damage ineffective.
The boss version likely has a higher absorption rate, requiring even more burst damage to overcome the healing. Against an Absorbent boss, damage-over-time effects like Bleed, Burn, and Poison may be less effective than usual since the boss heals between ticks. High single-hit damage that exceeds the absorption threshold is the most reliable approach.
Marked and Magic Weakness debuffs are valuable against Absorbent bosses since guaranteed crits produce the concentrated damage needed to outpace the absorption healing. Coordinating focus fire from multiple cats in the same turn can overwhelm the healing before the boss recovers. Anti-healing effects, if available, directly counter the absorption mechanic. The standard version, Elite Buff: Absorbent, applies to non-boss elites with a lower absorption rate.
