Cockroach Infestation

Cockroach Infestation is a creature-spawn weather effect in Mewgenics that populates the battlefield with extra hostile cockroaches. Functionally similar to Fly Swarm, this weather increases the total number of enemies in each encounter, extending fights and creating additional pressure on your team's resources.

Cockroaches are small, hostile enemies that attack your cats and must be cleared to complete encounters. They share the same basic threat profile as flies: individually weak, but collectively capable of chipping away at your team's health if left unchecked. Like flies, they are also easy to overlook in the game's detailed visual style, making the tactical view toggle essential for keeping track of all enemy positions.

AoE abilities are the most efficient counter to Cockroach Infestation, allowing a single cat to clear multiple cockroaches in one action. The bonus XP from killing extra enemies can accelerate your cats' leveling, which is particularly valuable in early acts where leveling up unlocks critical ability and passive choices.

Cockroach Infestation can appear in any biome and is one of the more common weather effects. In terms of difficulty impact, it is mild, adding quantity rather than quality to enemy rosters.
