Overview
The Destroyer is the second phase of The Creator boss encounter in The Infinite, the game's final dungeon. With 500 HP and 9 ATK, The Destroyer is a formidable melee combatant who wields a shield and sword. His signature defensive mechanic demands multi-angle coordination from your party: after each hit, he raises his shield in the direction the attack came from, blocking all subsequent attacks from that angle.
Key Mechanics
Directional Shield
After taking a hit, The Destroyer raises his shield toward the damage source, blocking all further attacks from that direction. To deal consistent damage, you must attack from multiple angles and force the shield to rotate constantly. Stuns prevent the shield from activating at all.
Holy Blast
The Destroyer charges a large area attack with a visible telegraph. If you attack him during the charge-up, it triggers an early pulse. Timing your damage windows around this telegraph is critical.
Rise
At the end of the round, The Destroyer resurrects downed units. Allied units stay under your control, but familiars become hostile. Be mindful of any familiars in play when this triggers.
Enrage Phase (250 HP)
At half health or upon shield break, The Destroyer transforms with a second sword and gains +4 Movement Up. He acquires Precognition (+4 Backflip stacks for enhanced dodging) and Annihilate, a devastating spinning 5-hit slash. This phase can be skipped entirely with the Fancy Bow equipped.
Strategy
Position your cats on multiple sides of The Destroyer and alternate attack angles each round. A coordinated party attacking from 3+ directions will bypass his shield more often than one clumped together.
Stuns are extremely valuable here. A stunned Destroyer cannot raise his shield, letting you unload damage freely from any direction. Save stun abilities specifically for burst windows.
Conserve resources for the next phases. The Destroyer is Phase 2 of a four-phase fight, and spending all your healing and cooldowns here will leave you vulnerable against The Child and The Father. For full details on all phases, see the Creator Boss Guide.
