Bird Flu

Bird Flu causes your cat to start each battle in Mockingbird Form, a transformation that replaces the cat's normal abilities with a bird-themed kit. Mockingbird Form typically features flight-based movement, ranged attacks, and different stat distributions compared to the cat's normal form. As a contagious disease disorder, Bird Flu can spread between party members during adventures.

Bird Flu is heritable and contagious, meaning it can pass through breeding and also spread to other cats in your party during adventures. It can be acquired through events or applied with a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The contagious nature makes it one of the more impactful disorders since it can spread to your entire party if not managed. Other contagious disorders include Covid, Ebola, Pox, The Common Cold, and The Flu.

Strategically, Bird Flu can be either a major benefit or a nuisance depending on whether Mockingbird Form aligns with your cat's build. If the form provides useful abilities like flight or ranged attacks, starting in it can be advantageous. If it replaces critical spells or abilities your cat needs, it becomes a handicap until the transformation ends. Bird Flu pairs interestingly with Lycanthropy (Wolf Form transformation), potentially creating a cat that shifts between multiple forms throughout a battle. The contagious spread means containing Bird Flu to just one cat requires keeping the infected cat separated from the rest of the party.
