Dark One

At end of your turn, deal 1 damage to all units and heal for the damage dealt. Whenever you down an ally gain All Stats Up.

Dark One is one of the most powerful and dangerous disorders in Mewgenics. At the end of your turn, it deals 1 damage to all units on the field, both enemies and allies, and heals your cat for the total damage dealt. On top of that, whenever you down an ally, you gain All Stats Up, a massive buff that boosts every stat simultaneously. This creates a dark synergy where sacrificing your own teammates makes your cat progressively stronger.

Dark One is heritable and can pass through breeding, though deliberately breeding for it is a risky strategy since it actively harms your party. It can also be acquired from events or applied using a Disorder Syringe from the Organ Grinder. The 1 damage per turn to all units may seem small, but it adds up over long battles, gradually whittling down fragile allies and low-HP enemies alike. The healing component scales with the number of units on the field, making it more effective in battles with many combatants.

From a strategic standpoint, Dark One works best on a solo carry cat or in builds that benefit from ally deaths. Pairing it with Kamikaze cats (who explode on death) or Necrophage (which gains stats from eating corpses) creates a brutal death-cycling engine. However, running Dark One alongside fragile support cats is risky since the passive damage can down them prematurely. If you commit to Dark One, build your team around it: tanky allies who can absorb the chip damage, summon-heavy strategies that provide expendable units, or simply accept that your Dark One cat will be the last one standing.
