Enemy
Angelic Kitten
Movement: 3
The Angelic Kitten is a small but insidious enemy found in The Infinite chapter. With 3 HP, 0 damage, and 3 movement, it deals no direct HP damage whatsoever. Instead, its melee attack inflicts 5 Poison on contact, stacking a persistent damage-over-time effect that continues dealing damage between turns. At medium range, it can also inflict an Attraction debuff, pulling cats toward it. Like other holy enemies, it is immune to Holy damage and gains All Stats Up when struck by Holy attacks.
The Angelic Kitten's most dangerous trait activates on death: it inflicts Doomed 2 on its killer and leaves a corpse. This death curse means killing Angelic Kittens carelessly can doom your cats in the process. In packs, they can stack devastating Poison levels while their death penalties create a lose-lose situation: leave them alive and suffer Poison, or kill them and suffer Doom. The key is managing how they die rather than simply rushing them down.
The recommended strategy is to prioritize Angelic Kittens last or apply crowd control like Stun or Freeze to neutralize them temporarily. If killed through body-destroying effects like the Infested status, the Doomed effect will not trigger. Using Charm on other enemies to have them kill the Angelic Kitten also bypasses the doom penalty. Champion variants have 6 HP and 4 movement. The kitten's appearance resembles Guppy, Edmund McMillen's deceased cat featured across many of his games.
