Raven

Raven is a rare medium bonus bird encountered across all chapters of Mewgenics. Unlike the peaceful Seagull, Pigeon, and Turkey, the Raven is genuinely dangerous when confronted. It counterattacks any melee aggressor and inflicts the Madness status on struck targets, making close-range engagement a risky proposition. The Madness effect can cause affected cats to act erratically, potentially wasting turns or attacking allies.

Defeating a Raven grants the killing cat +1 All Stats Up and a bonus chapter item. The Raven may also drop the Raven Feather, a neck equipment piece that inflicts Soul Link on two random enemies at the start of each battle. Soul Link connects the fates of linked enemies, meaning damage dealt to one is shared with the other. This is a powerful strategic item that effectively doubles your damage output against paired targets for the rest of the run.

Ranged or indirect attacks are the safest approach to killing a Raven, avoiding its Madness-inflicting counterattack entirely. Abilities that deal damage without making melee contact bypass the retaliation trigger. The Raven Feather drop alone makes Ravens one of the most valuable bonus birds to pursue, rivaling the Eagle's weapon drops in long-term run impact. Like all bonus birds, Ravens will eventually flee the level if left alone.
