Enemy
T-Rex
Movement: 2
T-Rex is the apex predator of The Jurassic chapter, a massive dinosaur whose primary method of dispatching threats is eating them whole. Its consumption attack is an instakill with no conventional damage stat: if the T-Rex reaches a cat, that cat is gone. This makes it arguably the most terrifying non-boss enemy in the entire game, as no amount of HP or defensive buffs can save a cat from being devoured.
The T-Rex locks onto the last unit that damaged it and relentlessly pursues that target, turning to face its attacker when struck. At the end of each turn, it stomps, inflicting Immobile on all adjacent units, which traps nearby cats in place for its next turn's consumption attack. Its Trample ability lets it damage and knock back multiple units during movement, clearing a path toward its target. The combination of target fixation, stomp immobilization, and trample creates a death loop for cats that get caught too close.
Repositioning away from the T-Rex every turn is critical: never end a turn adjacent to it, or the stomp will lock your cat in place for the eat. Spread damage across your party so that the T-Rex switches targets frequently, buying each cat more time to escape. Ranged attacks from maximum distance keep your cats safe, and knockback abilities can push the T-Rex away when it closes in. High-damage burst strategies are ideal for cutting through its HP before it can eat anyone.
