Vibrating Meteor

Vibrating Meteor is a Skill Event found in the Moon and Crater areas where your cat discovers a strange vibrating meteor. This is the simpler of the two meteor-themed events in Mewgenics (the other being the Meteor event, which offers more options and richer outcomes). Vibrating Meteor presents just two choices: Take the meteor using a Constitution check, or Ignore it and walk away safely. On a successful CON check, your cat pockets the meteor and receives a meteor-related item, potentially including the Vibrating Meteorite, Large Meteor, or Small Meteor. On failure, terrible pain wracks the cat's body upon contact.

The potential item rewards make this event worth considering even with modest risk. The Vibrating Meteorite is a rare cursed trinket that grants +3 to all seven stats but loses 1 from each stat after every battle and cannot be unequipped through normal means, making it a powerful but decaying short-term boost best equipped late in a run. Large Meteor is an uncommon Planet set trinket that mimics the effects of a random Collarless passive ability, and Small Meteor is a rare Planet set weapon that mimics a random Collarless active ability without requiring mana. Both meteor items have 90 visual variants and offer unpredictable but potentially build-defining effects.

Send your highest-CON cat to attempt the Take option, since Constitution determines the success roll. The failure penalty is painful but not catastrophic compared to events like the Volcano or Meat Altar where cats can die permanently. If none of your cats have strong CON, the Ignore option is always safe with zero consequences. Note that the separate Meteor event ("At the heart of a small crater...") offers additional options including a Luck-based Take and a Strength-based Crack Open, with more varied outcomes including random mutations, Amoeba parasite attachments on failure, and coin rewards.
