Gimp Set
Gain +1 to a random stat when you take damage.
The Gimp Set is a masochistic powerhouse — every time you take damage, you gain a random stat permanently. Builds that deliberately eat hits or have low evasion will snowball in stats over a run, potentially becoming dramatically stronger than the numbers on your gear suggest. Pairs well with high-health and regen builds that can survive repeated hits to harvest the stat gains.
Gimp Set pieces use restraint and pain-themed gear across head, neck, and face slots. The 3-piece bonus grants +1 to a random stat every single time you take damage. This triggers on any damage source — melee hits, ranged attacks, spell damage, Thorns self-damage, and even environmental hazards. Each damage event is a separate trigger, so taking many small hits generates more stat gains than taking one large hit.
Gimp Set is best on characters who expect to take consistent damage every fight and can survive long enough to rack up many procs. Constitution and regen stacking (Guts Set, Godhead Set, Medical Set) extends your lifespan and total damage-taking capacity. The Cactus Set's Thorns also causes enemies to take damage back, which doesn't directly trigger Gimp's on-damage stat gain, but keeping enemies attacking you maximizes your hit-taking rate. Note that the stat gains are random — you cannot control which stats increase, so expect asymmetric results.
