Recycled Ball Gag

A repurposed ball gag finding new purpose as face armor. Shield:2 is modest, but StatusOnTookDamage and StatusOnDie give it two reactive procs — a debuff each time damage is received, and another on death. Best suited to tanks or builds designed to absorb many hits, where the frequent damage triggers translate into constant status pressure on attackers.

StatusOnTookDamage fires every time any damage source connects — melee, ranged, AoE, and even status damage all count. Against multiple-hit enemies this means multiple status applications per round. StatusOnDie is a guaranteed one-time proc that fires on death, providing a final burst of status application regardless of how the wearer is killed. At just Shield:2 the defensive contribution is minor, so the reactive passives carry the item's entire value.

Recycled Ball Gag is a common-rarity entry point for reactive status builds — worth equipping early when better face options aren't available. It transitions well off as rarer reactive items like Gemstone Bones or Cool Rocks become available. Most useful on heavy frontline tanks who take frequent small hits rather than rare large ones. The death proc ensures some status value even if the wearer is one-shot.
