Mega Mutant is a hulking Lab enemy with 26 HP and 1 movement, encountered in The Lab. At the start of each turn it automatically strikes all adjacent units with Knockback 10, clearing its immediate surroundings. Its spell arsenal covers multiple threat vectors: Quake sends a 2-tile-wide shockwave across the entire map that converts terrain to Dirt and can Petrify, and its grab attack tears into adjacent targets — instantly downing cats and killing non-cat allies outright, while bypassing Holy Shield entirely.
Its most critical defensive mechanic: whenever Mega Mutant takes damage, it gains +99 Brace until its next turn. This makes burst damage almost completely useless — any spike damage is reduced to near-zero by the massive Brace gain. Instead, sustained damage over multiple turns that bypasses or outlasts the Brace is required. Notably, it cannot gain the Elite Buff Protected status, leaving it open to slow attrition damage. Its Champion form doubles to 52 HP.
Never stand adjacent to Mega Mutant unless intending to commit to a full engagement — the automatic Knockback 10 at turn start makes clustered positioning catastrophic. Its slow speed of 1 means keeping distance is achievable with mobile cats. Deal damage at range using DoT effects like Bleed, Burn, or Poison that tick independently of its Brace, and avoid gambling on single-turn burst windows.
