Boss
Lucy
Psychic control and displacement. Uses telekinesis to reposition player units. Hard for slow/short-range cats to close distance.
Lucy is a mini-boss encountered mid-chapter in The Alley, a spellcasting cat whose fight introduces players to telegraphed magic attacks. Unlike the direct melee threats of other Alley mini-bosses, Lucy relies on a two-turn casting system: she spends one turn charging a spell (highlighting all affected tiles with white exclamation marks) and fires it on her second turn. This telegraph system gives observant players a full turn to reposition out of danger zones, making the fight a lesson in reading the board and reacting to visual cues.
Lucy has three distinct spells in her arsenal. MC Blizz damages and inflicts Freeze in a 2-tile radius around her position, punishing cats that stay too close. MC Flamethrower deals damage and inflicts Burn in a cone directly in front of her, rewarding flanking over frontal approaches. MC Thunder strikes all diagonal directions around her with a chance to Stun, covering angles that the other two spells miss. Together, these three spells create overlapping danger zones that force constant repositioning. Each spell targets different areas around Lucy, so there is always a safe angle to attack from if you read her charge correctly.
Since Lucy's spells require active concentration to charge, Stun cancels her attacks entirely, making it the single most effective counter. Careful application of Knockback can also cause her to completely whiff charged spells by moving her out of position relative to your cats. Ranged classes like the Hunter and Mage are the primary damage dealers for this encounter, as melee approaches put cats at risk of MC Blizz's close-range freeze. A balanced party with the default Collars works well at this stage of the game. Keep healing in reserve rather than spending it on minor enemies before the fight, and enter with full HP if possible.
