Pyrophina

Movement: 3

Pyrophina is an enormous fire-breathing Kaiju with reddish pink scales, and one of the two Act 2 House Bosses. She appears 7 days after the player completes The Core for the first time, arriving with 600 HP, 5 damage, 4 movement, and 5 luck. Despite her massive size she occupies only 4 tiles. Her name derives from "pyro" (Latin for fire) and "phina" (from the Hebrew for seraphim), and her design appears inspired by Godzilla, contrasting with Zaratana's Gamera-like appearance.

Every attack Pyrophina lands inflicts Burn damage, and her presence gradually sets the entire map on fire over just a few turns. She often attempts to ram into the party with Trample before performing her main attacks. At the end of each round, she performs a massive roar that knocks all units to the edge of the map and cleanses every debuff from herself, making sustained debuff strategies ineffective. If the fire is not kept in check, your entire team will burn to a crisp in short order.

Keeping your cats Wet is paramount for surviving this fight. Key water-element resources include the Old Hose weapon (water line attack with knockback), the Water Feeder neck item (grants Wet status and HP regen), and the Old Extinguisher weapon (cone-based fire suppression, single use). Useful abilities include Hose Off, Number One, Surf, Whirlpool, Forbidden Flood, Control Water, Cleanse, Spit, and Like a Fish. Blocking off fire tiles with water tiles is essential to maintaining safe positioning. Defeating Pyrophina rewards the Scalding Orb, a quest weapon that can be used to instantly defeat The Man in the Moon. Her battle theme is "Brush Your Teeth."
